CLASSROOM CLOSETS | BEFORE
Jennifer described this closet as her most important. This is where all of her office supplies are housed as well as activities and worksheets that she makes as she finds them. She then stores them on one of the shelves to use as she needs them.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | BEFORE
This closet housed some left over office supplies that did not fit in the other closet, binders and books with teaching resources, math station activities, and literacy activities. Many of the items were hard to locate and access.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | BEFORE
This closet mainly housed books that Jennifer plans to give her students to take home over breaks so they can have access to reading materials when they are out of school.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | BEFORE
This closet stored Jennifer's math materials. A lot of the materials were organized by skill already; however, they were stacked in front of each other. This made it difficult for her to access items when she needed them.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | AFTER
This closet is now organized and ready for Jennifer to be able to quickly locate anything she is looking for. All of the supplies are together in one space. After sorting through everything, we had an extra shelf. She decided to move all of her books for the district reading curriculum to that shelf so she her sweet first graders aren't tempted to look through them and get them out of order. :)
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | AFTER
This closet still houses all of her reference books and binders, literacy materials, and math station activities. We sorted through everything that was in the closet beforehand and got rid of items that she no longer needed or used.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | AFTER
This closet houses a variety of materials. On the top shelf are all of the books she plans to send home with students. Hopefully by the end of the year, that shelf will be empty! I also stacked all of her construction paper, making it easier to access. Many of the other items in the closet are curriculum resources.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | AFTER
This is Jennifer's math closet now. Since we moved all of the student books to a different closet, we had an open closet to turn into a math closet as well. This opened up a lot of space! All of the math materials are organized by skill, and nothing is stored in front of another skill, making it easy for Jennifer to see what she has.
CLASSROOM CLOSETS | AFTER
This closet was open after moving all of the student books. We decided to make this into a second math closet. By doing so, we were able to have all of the materials sorted by skill without having to stack items in front of others. The materials are easy to locate and access now!
